Ko Samui Photo Diary – Part 1

The highlights. Spicy papaya salad – one you just can’t seem to get away from in Thailand, but I’m definitely not complaining.  It’s the perfect combination of sweet, salty, sour, spicy, savoury and is nicely crunchy too.  Next up – proper fish cakes, a rarity in the UK. They came with a sweet and sour tamarind dipping sauce that left you wanting more. The Spicy Mango Salad is pretty similar to the Papaya version, without a lot of the frills. The mango is sweet, the dressing sour, and the small fried fish added a salty crunch. The raw vegetables with a spicy shrimp paste dip were incredibly savoury. Red Soft Shell Curry, Garlic Pork Ribs, Salty & Sour Chilli’s, Fried Snapper with Sweet and Sour Sambal, Kankung; Stir Fried Morning Glory, more spicy mango salad and grilled Baracuda.
